CBC originally filmed my segment for The National the first week of January. While chatting with the journalist, we mentioned we won the trip to the Olympics. The segment was slated to air the following week. Then Haiti had the earthquake and my story was bumped. Since they knew we were going to be at the Olympics, they waiting until mid-February to run the story and added the bit about us at the Olympics. So, no, it’s not odd they singled me out.

I saw the report of your win on the News. Did you feed them the story? I am quite sure you weren’t the only one that won the trip, so it would be odd that they singled you out.

No. For two reasons: 1) I am not greedy. I won the trip and they gave me the trip. I had an unforgettable time. I don’t need or want anything more. 2) The rules state, ARV. Wonder Bread approximated $40,000 cost based on airfare for four from St. John’s NF. I calculated my ARV based on prices I could locate and on airfare from Toronto, not what they actually paid. They may have paid more. They may have paid. less.

I am happy and grateful for what I recieved. What they will get from us is a thank you note!

Have you thought about approaching Weston inquiring about the difference between the value in the rules and actual prize offerred. It is quite a difference in price.

In terms of the days, travelling takes up time and always cuts into the holiday.
