As the popularity of social media marketing grows, contests are more frequently offering you additional entries if you share a link on Facebook and/or Twitter. If one of your friends or followers enters using your link, you garner an extra entry. The fewer friends and followers you have, the less opportunity you have to garner those entries.
One way to get more followers is to create an interesting profile that makes others want to follow you. I frequently check to see who is following me. I read their profile. If I feel I will either learn from this person (marketers), be entertained (movie and TV stars) or have a greater opportunity to win (contestors) I follow. However many times the profile is blank and the picture is generic. Guess what, I don’t blindly follow those who follow me.

What does your profile say about you?
