Jessica sent me the following question:
Hi Contest Queen!
Quick question. Am I supposed to answer every phone call with a weird phone number because most of them are just trying to sell me magazines. All the other prizes I have won either just shown up on my door or I have gotten an email. Sometimes I get phone numbers that are 5 to 15 digits long, then when I answer nothing is there.
Thank you.
I always answer. I get calls from everywhere for both business and pleasure. Sometimes I get calls regarding prizes and when I was a Contest Manager I called people frequently. So answer your phone! If it is a telemarketer, just say no thank you and hang up. That’s what I do.
GOOD LUCK!

I find that if I am a big winner & not home that most contest sponsors will leave a message on my answering machine/voicemail. The spam callers/telemarketers won’t.
