How to Organize Your Sweepstakes

Posted on: May 17th, 2013 by carolyn

How do you keep track of what to enter? One of the keys to winning is to be organized. It’s one way you can ensure you do not inadvertently disqualify yourself.

There are various types of online entry sweepstakes: singles, daily, weekly, monthly and unlimited.  Once you determine the entry parameters you can determine your next step.  If it’s a single entry contest, I enter right away and delete it.  If it’s one of the other types I bookmark it in a folder.  I currently use RoboForm, my favorite online sweepstakes organizational and entry software, but you can use Favorites in Internet Explorer, Bookmarks in Firefox or Chrome.  I have folders labelled: daily, weekly and monthly.  I skip unlimited entry sweepstakes as I barely have time to enter the dailies. Safe to Enter

In light of my blog post Today’s Draw — DO NOT ENTER! I felt it prudent to share a few FREE membership-based websites that are legitimate and safe to enter.

I have personally met with the owners of both SweepToKeep and WinJunkie and have spoken to RoyalDraw.  As Robert Ohotto states, “Energy doesn’t lie.”  Both my business savvy and my intuition tell me these companies have sound business models combined with honest intentions.  If you have been a member of either Sweep To Keep, Royal Draw or WinJunkie since the beginning, you have noticed their slow growth.  This allows them to balance the free entries, advertisers and growth so they can provide the prizes promised in a timely manner.

Only having dealt with the new President of WannaWin via email, I can’t speak to their current business model, but I have never heard of a winner not getting their prize.  I have only heard it is hard to win.  Logic dictates that with WannaWin’s contests being open worldwide, the odds will be lower than any other site, therefore each giveaway will be harder to win, but not impossible (or fraudulent). Today's Draw

The contest community is a fairly vocal group and complaints about Today’s Draw have been rampant on Facebook, Twitter and online forums for well over a year.  I also got my fair share of emails from concerned entrants on various problems they encountered with them.

I blogged about Today’s Draw in the past including my direct experience with them:

twitter-bird-blue-on-whiteAs the popularity of social media marketing grows, contests are more frequently offering you additional entries if you share a link on Facebook and/or Twitter.  If one of your friends or followers enters using your link, you garner an extra entry.  The fewer friends and followers you have, the less opportunity you have to garner those entries. The Sales Funnel & Winning — Part 2

Posted on: May 2nd, 2013 by carolyn

sales funnelOn my blog post I Win Every Contest I Enter, Kimberly left the following comment:

This is so true! I enter lots and have won several major prizes but i definitely lose so much more than I win. I not only do it because I love winning, but also because I enjoy it as a hobby. If it quits being fun for me, I won’t keep entering. Several of my friends want to know how I win, so I will try to get them started. They stick with it about a week or so, and then quit because they didn’t win. (more…)
