The Lucky Lilacs

Sweepstaking 1 Comment »

I was only back from Texas one day and I went on a road trip with my contesting buddy Rick.  So on Wednesday Rick and I drove down to Rochester NY to meet Donna DeClemente of DDC Marketing and then attend a Lucky Lilacs club meeting.

We meet Donna at Northfield and had a very interesting conversation about sweeping from both sides of the hobby.  (I’ll be doing a guest blog posting for Donna shortly.  I’ll keep you posted.)  The time passed too quickly and we had to be off to our next meeting.  The conversation had been so interesting that we wished we could have continued and had dinner with her.  Maybe next time.

The Lucky Lilacs meet on a Wednesday evening once per month.  I thought they always met at their local Wegmans, but apparently, the past two meeting were held at local bars.  Each of those meetings moved location because each time a member had won a fantastic prize and they celebrated.

Nine members attended the meeting that evening.  Similar to the DFWinners, they began their meeting with a Roll Call announcing all their winnings since the previous meeting.  What they did differently was, they also pass around a lucky green candle.  When it was their turn, if a member had a win bigger then $500, they blew out the candle and absorbed the winning energy while all the other club members clapped and cheered.  What fun!

We then had draws for: decorated envelopes, regular stamps, postcard stamps, lottery tickets, blank 3×5s and at the end, all the losing tickets were put in to a bin and a name was draw for a Better-Than-Nothing gift bag.  I won the decorated envelopes, WOO HOO!, and since we don’t mail-in much in Canada anymore, I gave them to the member who had the least amount of wins for the past month.  I guess good karma came back around because I then won the Better-Than-Nothing prize.

What a fun night we had!

Rick and I then drove home in the first big snow fall of the year.  I finally crawled into bed at 3am.  The next time I go back, it will definitely be in warmer weather!

If you currently not a member of a sweeping or contesting club, I highly recommend it.  There is no words to describe the energy one receives from being around other winners.  The friends I have made in this hobby far outweigh any wins I have ever had.

I Am Now Here

I have been entering and winning consistently for the past seven years, yet for the past two we have only won one big grand prize and it came in my husband’s name. I wanted to know why I wasn’t winning “the big ones”. Then I discovered something interesting about the Law of Attraction and duality.

You have to be here to win, especially big. Let me explain. We live in a world of duality: on/off, up/down, happy/sad, win/lose, etc. I have a tendency to live in the future. What do I mean by that? Well, I am a planner. I like to plan my day, my week, my life because it gives me the illusion of control. (If you like to control your life and circumstances, I have bad news for you, you are not really in control. None of us are.) While I am busy planning, I am in the future at the meetings, events and trips. (This is different than visualization where you feel as if you are driving the new car now.) I found out if you are anywhere other than here, you are no where.

If you are no where, instead of now here (the duality), the Law of Attraction will not work. The three steps are: Ask, Believe and Receive. If you are no where, then it’s like placing and order, moving and not telling anyone. The order arrives, finds no one home and returns it undeliverable. The items gets put back in the warehouse and is delivered to the next person that places the order.

So, for the next little while I am not focusing on prizes or wins. I am focusing on being here. I am here, now. I am present, now. (It will be interesting to see if any of the orders I placed with the Universe in the past show up since I am now “at home”.)

I highly recommend listening the the four part webcast about Jill Bolte Taylor’s life changing experience and how she learned to live in the now.

I am now here and you can be too.

Is Luck Really A Skill?

I received a great article by Enoch Tan last week titled Focusing - Channeling Energy Toward Time and Space. In it he talks about how luck is energy and since it an energy if you are vibration with it, you will be lucky. He states in order to maintain that frequency, you need to stay focused, which is a skill.

That is why I wear my I AM LUCKY bracelet, keep a piece of green aventurine in my pocket and wear my lucky oils. All of those items help me stay in the vibrational frequency of luck without any effort on my part except trust.

What do you do to keep yourself in the vibrational frequency of luck?

Manifest Anything

Law of Attraction 2 Comments »

Did you know you could manifest anything? Things you didn’t even know existed? I didn’t know that until yesterday. If you have seen The Secret, read The Attractor Factor or listened to Ask And It Is Given on CD you know that the process of manifesting is to; Ask, Believe and Receive. You have be specific in your request, you have to have faith it will occur and you have to allow it in. You also have to leave the how up to the Universe.

Now, let me take a step back. For most of 2007 I had been entering Dell sweepstakes hoping to win a new notebook. I had asked and believed one would arrive. It did. I didn’t win it. My husband bought it for me for Christmas. I wasn’t attached to the how, just the end result; I would own a “Lucky Green” Dell notebook.

I am not sure if you have seen the particular shade of green that Dell uses, but it is exactly the same colour as Shrek. Our daughter received a Shrek travel bag and squishy Shrek head pillow as a Christmas gift. The notebook and pillow were side-by-side on the coffee table when I noticed the similarity. I thought, “Wouldn’t it be cool if I could put Shrek ears on my notebook?” I didn’t want to cut up the pillow or glue anything to my new computer, so I released the thought.

Well, yesterday I got a call from Blockbuster Canada. I won a secondary prize pack in their “Shrek the Third” Contest. It includes a Shrek bag, a Shrek Quest Book, a Shrek watch and a set of Shrek ears! I just about fell over.

Now, I wonder what else I can imagine that I could manifest? What can you imagine?

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Between the holidays, a sick webmaster and a myriad of technical difficulties with Bell Canada Web Hosting, I am finally able to post my first blog. YEAH!

Add me to your RSS feed, as I will be posting my sweepstakes thoughts, ideas, comments and rants here instead of my e-newsletter The Winning EDGE.

It seemed time for a change and its here. I have a good feeling about 2008!
