Style To WIN!

The Aveda Institute is giving away 5 full scholarships to their hair schools in 5 different cities across Canada.  To win, submit a video explaining why you were Born To Style.  This is a judged contest.  Pull out all the stops, the pizazz and the sizzle, because you have to convince a panel of celebrity judges from across Canada (from 5 cities: Victoria, Vancouver, Calagry, Winnipeg and Toronto) why you should win.

HOW TO WIN!
STEP 1: MAKE A VIDEO
… showing you were Born To Style, along with why you’ve got the talent, passion and determination it takes to develop your hairstyling skills with the Aveda Institute Canada.

STEP 2: UPLOAD & SHARE
… visit the Aveda Institue Scholarship website to enter the contest.  Upload your video (before March 31st 2012) then share your entry with the world!  Get your family, friends, fans and followers to rate your video.

STEP 3: HAIR SHOWDOWN
… the panel of hair and beauty professionals, along with our faculty, will select 5 aspiring hairstylists in each city (see above) to advance to the final round.  The selected future hairstylists will  participate in a live “head-to-head” competition and runway show, putting together a complete look in front of a panel of style experts and hairstyling heavy hitters.  The winner in each city will be awarded a full scholarship to the Aveda Institute hair school!

How Many Trips Have You Won?

There is another reality television show in the works related to sweepstakes.  Working title, Free-cations.  It is to be featured on the Travel Channel.  What makes this show different than High Stakes Sweepers is they want to feature how to travel for free and winning a trip is a great way to do that.  They are not going to film someone winning a trip.  They are going to film someone either going on a trip they won or recreate a trip they won.  Due to the filming schedule, I am assuming the pilot episode will air in January and, if successful, will become a series.

OMG! I Won 2 Cars Today! WOO HOO!

If you have been a follower of mine for a period of time you would know I will do anything to win.  I carry a lucky stone, wear I am Lucky oil, have have my house Feng Shui’d and say a daily affirmation, etc.  (I never cheat as it breaks The Law of Karma!)

Currently, my daily affirmation is:

I now choose to request and receive to win 100+ prices, including the 4Cs, valued at $50,000+ in 2011.  This or something greater.  Thank you.

(BTW, the 4 Cs of sweeping are: Cash, Cars, Cruises and Computers.)

As per one of my favourite books by Esther and Jerry Hicks Ask and It Is Given, I ask just as I awake and just before I drift off to sleep.  This is said to be the time we are most strongly connected to the Universal consciousness with the least resistance.

Well, I’ve been asking and today the Universe delivered!  I won, not one, but two cars!! Before you turn green with envy, there is a reason the saying “Be careful what you ask for.  You just might get it.”, is well known.

Kimberly-Clark is currently running a promotion open to both Canada and the U.S. tied to the up coming movie Cars 2.  This afternoon they launched the instant win portion of the promotion.  You guessed it.  I got exactly what I have been asking for.  I won a car, and so did my husband Craig.

The lesson I was reminded of today was; one needs to be very specific when asking.  You can be sure I’ll be revising my affirmation!  LOL!!

WIN a $5000 Closet Makeover & Shopping Spree!!

EZ UP is currently running a contest titled; Canada’s Worst Closet.  At first glance, you may not enter because many photo-based promotions require you to have a really ugly room or a hideous couch, etc. where, in order to win, it is judged to be the worst or you are able to get the most votes.  Most of us don’t have the worst this or that, nor do we have the largest social network to garner the most votes.  So we just don’t enter.

Well, if you have followed me for any amount of time, you know my #1 entry tip is to read the rules.  If you read the rules for Canada’s Worst Closet, you will discover the winner is selected via random draw.  You will also find out that since EZ UP’s modular closet systems are so reasonably priced, that the bulk of the $5,000 will be spent on the shopping spree.  Not just any shopping spree, but one lead by another Queen, Canada’s style and image consulting Queen; Suzanne Colmer (Your Shop Girl).
