HTC First

In advance of my Contest Queen’s “Secrets to Winning” Sweepstakes Tour, AT&T gave me an HTC First phone to take on-the-road to give it a spin, so to speak along with keeping in-touch on-the-go.

My phone arrived late last Thursday afternoon.  I was excited to see how the phone looked and felt compared to what I saw on screen.  The box was modern and eco.  Off to a good start.  I had a good feeling about this phone.  First impressions count.  So do second impressions.  The phone was sleeved with an important message “It Can Wait“.  NICE!

On Friday I couldn’t wait to get to Utah to try using the phone.  I decided to at the very least, charge the phone so it would be ready-to-go.  As I live in Canada I didn’t want to insert the SIM card and potentially incur any roaming of any kind.

Once charged I got the “No SIM card” message, but then the phone did something I didn’t expect (no wonder they are called smartphones), it detected our WiFi and posted a message “connect to local network”?  Heck yes!  I spent the day setting up entire phone (download all my apps and link them to all my accounts).  It is ready to-go when I land on Wednesday.

So I then spent the weekend playing with the phone as a mini-computer.  WOW!  Is about all I can come-up with as there are no great words to describe how impressed I am.  The HTC is slick, sexy, fun and fast.  I LOVE the Facebook First feature and how I am able to enter contests and sweepstakes right from my phone. (The Blackberry was very limited.)

I will never go back to Blackberry …

I thought it would be prudent to pre-test some of the giveaways I have planned for my summer tour.  While I am attending the 24th Annual National Sweepstakes Convention in Salt Lake City UT from Wednesday June 26th until Sunday June 30th I will be hosting sweepstakes, via social media, all managed from my HTC First.

DISCLAIMER: AT&T provided me with a free HTC First to take on-the-road, and I was under no obligation to review it if I so chose.  Nor was I under any obligation to write a positive review in return for the free product.
