Sowing sweepstakes seeds to win bigger!

This spring, plant the seeds of winning. Your goal should be to maximize your entries in the shortest amount of time possible while increasing your odds.

RAKE IN THE ODDS

This isn’t rocket science. The fewer people that enter, the greater your odds of winning. Enter in concentric circles.

  1. Locally
  2. State-wide/Province-wide
  3. Nationally
  4. Globally

Create a list of all your local and state-wide/province-wide media outlets and businesses that host frequent giveaways, and visit that list once per week to see if anything new has been posted. I have saved mine in RoboForm, but you can use your favorite browser, or even a spreadsheet.

DIG YOUR ENTRIES

If you aren’t winning as of late. Start tracking what you enter for 30 days.

  1. Frequency: how often are you entering, and for how long?
  2. Platform: where are you entering?
  3. Prizes: what did you win within the 30 days?

You will quickly see where you are planting your entries. If they aren’t growing, it’s time to change what you are sowing. Change one thing at a time. How often are you entering. Where you are entering. What you are trying to win. If Instagram isn’t working, stop. If single entries are working, increase the number you enter. It’s OK to shift and change with the hobby.

TIE UP YOUR TIME

The average sweeper spends 1-2 hours per day entering giveaways. That includes entering the dailies and weeklies, then entering new giveaways. Be sure to allot the time for creative contests and social media giveaways. Like going to the gym to get fit, consistency is key. However, if your lifestyle doesn’t allow for a daily hobby, allot regular time each week. It’s better to get in one entry than none. Also, look for any downtime you can use to enter, such as waiting in line or taking public transit.

Plant the best entries and harvest the prizes this summer and fall.
