As my daughter Nicole had back surgery last February to correct her scoliosis, and would be home for 6-8 weeks afterwards, the decision was made not to attend last year’s wonderful event.

On Saturday April 9th, Nicole and I had a wonderful time at The Michigan Wolverines’ Winners Sweepstakes Club Annual Spring Meeting. How fun!! This year’s theme was No Bull Fiesta.

Friday April 8th

Nicole and I left bright and early as we wanted to do a bit of shopping in the U.S.  We had lunch at White Castle because Nicole saw an episode of Supernatural featuring the restaurant.

We then checked into the Baymont Inn as our host arranges a special rate for all meeting attendees. It wouldn’t be a road trip if we didn’t do a bit of shopping. We stopped at Target, Meijer and Trader Joe’s before going back for the pizza party.

We returned in time for the pizza dinner Al Sayward throws for all the attendees staying at the hotel.  As Nicole’s back has healed well, she was given the go ahead to begin swimming and bike riding again. She was very happy to take her first laps in over 18 months at the hotel pool.

Saturday April 9th

We were up an at ’em bright and early to enjoy the breakfast buffet at the hotel before getting dressed up and heading over the The Gazebo.

As usual, there was a heaps of food and prizes! (No photos this year as I hosted a quick Periscope of the event. Sadly, Periscope does not keep the videos like Facebook Live does.)

After all the food, we held the costume contest.

Then the drawings began!! We only won a few small things that I didn’t even think to take pictures of.

As Nicole had a birthday party to attend the next day, we drove home straight from the meeting and we didn’t hang out with friends that evening.
