At the 2nd Annual NH Sweepstakes Getaway, we answered each other’s sweepstakes questions because all boats rise with the tide.

I wanted to share Nancy’s answer because it was perfect, simple advice.
What two pieces of advice would you give a new sweeper?

Nancy didn’t have two but three nuggets of wisdom to impart:
1) Get a mentor.
A mentor is more important than ever as sweepstakes are getting more complex and diverse, crossing all types of entry platforms. You can find one at a sweepstakes club. See point 2 below.
2) Join a club.
This is one of the most important and underrated aspects of the hobby. There is nothing like being with enthusiastic people. They understand what you do on a daily basis, they don’t roll their eyes when you win something, and they keep you going during the dry spells.
You can join a virtual contest club meeting or find a club near you.
3) Never give up hope.
Time and time again, I have seen people give up only to win a biggie. It takes time from the moment you submit the sweepstakes entry until the drawing and notification. Similar to the sales funnel, you must enter many to win a few, which is why you must never give up hope. (Read Use the Sales Funnel to Win Prizes.)
